St. Mary’s Independent School, Southampton achieves 100% A* – C (equivalent) in Maths and English and an impressive 40% of all grades achieved at A*and A

St. Mary’s Independent School would like to congratulate all of its Year 10 and 11 students on their outstanding GCSE examination results.  Our exceptional Maths and English results of 100% Grades 4 – 9 are proof that our small class sizes and nurturing environment help all our students achieve their full potential. Overall, 71% of all exams entered achieved A*, A or B grades, and an impressive 40% achieved A*and A grades. Other extraordinary results include  Physics, Chemistry, Additional Science,  Media, Art, History, Physical Education and Classical Civilisation  – all achieving 100% A*- C.  On average our Year 11 students achieved 4 A*/A grades each! We would like to thank all our students, staff, governors and parents for their hard work and dedication; St. Mary’s Independent School truly does nurture, inspire and achieve!

Special mention goes to Megan Smith and Aressi Rahman who achieved 11 GCSEs at A* – A, Alex Lopez with 10 GCSEs at A* – A and Nathan Taylor with 9 GCSEs at A*- A.  In addition to these four Year 11 students we would like to congratulate Alessandro Leoni (Year 10) who achieved Grade 9 in Maths.

Over the last seven years, an average of 93% of the students gained higher-grade passes at GCSE in 5 or more subjects including Mathematics and English.

In 2015, 96% of pupils achieved A*- C grades, including English and Mathematics. The cohort for this year achieved an average of 11 GCSEs.
