Year 6 go Chinese

Yr 6 about to tuck in

As part of our studies about Ancient China, Year 6 have been evaluating typical food eaten by Chinese peasants during the Han Dynasty, about 2000 years ago.

The rice, noodles and chicken had to be eaten with chopsticks since knives and forks were developed hundreds of years later in Europe.  Bronwyn felt that “eating with chopsticks was difficult to begin with; but turned out to be great fun when you could do it!” “We also had lots of fun learning to speak some everyday phrases and how to count in Mandarin Chinese with Vincent and Ruo Ling from Southampton University,” added Logan.
