Year 10 Economists 'grand tour' of London
Exploring the City of London. Year 10 economists took the grand tour of London’s financial district on Friday. Visiting the Bank of England to help understand its role in regulating and maintaining stability in the UK economy. A visit to Canary Wharf helped them to see the scale of this regenerated docklands district and appreciate the role that Government and private enterprise has in helping to create infrastructure for economic growth. While outside the former offices of Lehman Brothers in Canary Wharf students considered the importance of regulatory control in the financial service sector, especially after the 2007 crisis.
