Sea City Museum Trip
This week pupils, parents and staff at Charlton House enjoyed a trip to the Sea City Museum in Southampton. Throughout the day the children found out about life on the Titanic by studying fascinating objects and listening to personal stories that explored the tragic loss of the ship in 1912.
Each class took part in a series of workshops which developed their learning and understanding of life aboard the ship. They were able to explore some of the reasons behind the disaster and look at the impact the tragedy had on the city of Southampton. Highlights of the day included dressing up in period costume and having to decide which passengers should be given a place on a lifeboat.
We would like to thank all the parents who helped contribute to a great day. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we were delighted to hear that the children were one of the most knowledgeable and best behaved groups that the museum had ever encountered!
