Romeo and Juliet

On a sunny Thursday afternoon in June, Mr O’Farrell and Mrs Hyde took a group of students from across the school to see an acclaimed touring production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at Salisbury Playhouse.
The Tobacco Factory’s version of the play was lively and imaginatively staged, with Romeo and Juliet both played as young and excitable teenagers swept away by their romantic feelings. The action scenes were convincingly gory, with the death of Mercutio a particular dramatic highlight.
The students all seemed to greatly enjoy the performance and their English teachers are confident that the experience will stand them in good stead when they come to study the play for GCSE English Literature.
