Many thanks to all the parents, staff and pupils who supported this year’s Founder’s day celebrations. The event was a huge success with all children thoroughly enjoying the range of activities taking place during the day.
The day began with a “Bring and Buy sale” in the school gym with all proceeds going towards repairing the school roof. Thanks to the kind support of our parents, who made very generous donations, and the hard work of the children, we were able to raise over £250. Events in the hall were further enhanced by the DT skills of our year 6 pupils who created a range of exciting games for each class to play during the morning.
After break, Mass was led by Fr. Michael with Year 4 pupils contributing to the celebrations. Many thanks to all parents who attended and congratulations to Liam Lawlor, Bobby Amini and Euan Lee Cann who won this year’s ‘Creation’ photographic competition. All pupils who entered were given the task of responding to God’s creation through the medium of photography and writing. All entries were of an exceptionally high standard and the competition was such a success that we now envisage it becoming an annual event in the school calendar.
Finally, Charlton House’s first ever ‘Garden on a Plate’ competition raised an additional £30 for the school garden. The winning entrants each received a cuddly toy and a stationery set just in time for writing this year’s letter to Santa! Congratulations to William Connor, Carla Lopez, Sophia Baxter, Marianna Perry, Archie Wright, Claudia Lopez and Mya Campbell for their fantastic entries and well done to all those who took part.
