Activity Day

Great weather greeted the protagonists for the start this years Activity Day, organised by the Parent’s Association.
The day started with a cricket match in which current students were soundly beaten by a team composed of former students, parents and staff.
img_0001_2The afternoon had a variety of activities; football, cricket and volleyball on the playing field, and skittles, Connect 4 and Giant Jenga, amongst others in the Dining Hall.  The 5-a-side football tournament was won by the Nbombs, while the current students gained revenge in a volleyball match.
Throughout the day, a range of delicious food including Sue Rhone’s wonderful chicken curry, was cooked by volunteers from the Parents’ Association, together with a Bar for adults and for children.  There were stalls selling plants and cakes.
The day finished in the evening with a quiz attended by over 100 people.  The quiz was won by the Wright Force, finally achieving a five-year ambition.
The day proved to be very enjoyable, helped by the good weather.  A large number of present, former and potential students, as well as parents, attended during the day, and the range of activities both provided entertainment and raised money for the various projects being funded by the Parents’ Association.  A big thank-you to the Parents’ Association for organising the event, and to all who helped out in any way, or just took part in making the day so successful.
