Stone Age people used natural pigments from rocks, charcoal and berries to create cave paintings depicting hunting scenes and other aspects of daily life. Year 3 tried their hand at cave paintings in class and even crawled into their own dark cave to produce a painting, with humorous results!

Year 3 scientists have been investigating the properties of different rocks. They looked at whether rocks are permeable or impermeable and used a scratch test to decide whether the rocks were hard or soft.
